Our Mission: Based in Cheverly, Maryland, our mission is to promote economic fairness, social justice, basic human rights, a sustainable environment, a tolerant society and world peace through a more informed political dialogue and active participation in civil society and the democratic political process.
► 2012 Legislative Forum: Progressive Cheverly will be hosting its seventh annual Legislative Forum on Friday, January 20th at 7:00 pm featuring Senator Victor Ramirez and Delegates Doyle Niemann, Jolene Ivey and Michael Summers . Learn about the issues facing the upcoming Maryland General Assembly session and question your legislators. The forum will be held at the Hoyer Montessori School's student cafeteria, 2300 Belleview Ave. Child care will be provided. Please contact Lamar Thorpe at lamarthorpe@gmail.com for more information. ► February Meeting: Our next general meeting of Progressive Cheverly is Thursday, February 2nd at 7:00 pm. Our topic will be Cheverly in 20 Years. The discussion will center on land use and community planning efforts in Cheverly. Followed by refreshments and our regular business meeting.Progressive Cheverly monthly meetings will be held on the ground floor cafeteria of the Hoyer Montessori & Early Childhood Center, 2300 Belleview Avenue, Cheverly. All area residents are welcome to attend. ► Lobby Night: Progressive Cheverly's annual Lobby Night in Annapolis is scheduled for Monday, February 27th at 5:30 pm. More information about Lobby Night will be presented at the February General Meeting. ► News: Gwendolyn T. Britt Award in 2010, members of Progressive Cheverly voted to institute the Gwendolyn T. Britt Award as a means to foster and support an individual or group working to advance the goals and principles outlined in Progressive Cheverly's mission statement. For more information about the Britt Awards, please click here. ► Membership Survey Results: At the end of 2009, Progressive Cheverly conducted a poll of its members to determine the organization's priorities as we moved into the new year.
